Ben has served as the Director of Formal & Informal Education at New City Jewish Center since July 2007. Prior to his arrival at NCJC, Ben served as the Youth Director, Vice Principal, and Interim Principal at Temple Sholom in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Ben has undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Jewish Studies from Indiana University as well as a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Loyola University. Additionally Ben holds day school principal certification from the Jewish Education Leadership Institute.
Ben is a veteran of religious schools having taught in various congregations throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast. Furthermore, Ben has an extensive background in informal education through both youth groups and Jewish camping. While in high school, Ben served as the Regional President of Central Region USY and later went on to serve as the Executive Vice President of International USY. Prior to working full-time, Ben spent his summers at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin, first as a camper and later as a counselor.
Ben is a resident of New City where he shares his home with his lovely wife, Meredith and their adorable puppy, Peyton. |

Lynne serves as the Vice Principal and has been teaching at NCJC since 1972. Lynne is a graduate of the Joint Program between JTS and Columbia University. She holds a BHL in Talmud with a minor in Education from JTS and a BS in French Literature from Columbia University.
Lynne also holds an MSW degree from the Hunter College School of Social Work. In addition to her position as Vice Principal, Lynne coordinates and teaches in both the middle school and Hebrew high school. She tutors for Bar/Bat Mitzvah and helps to prepare all students with their Divrei Torah. |
